Kontali's new Content Marketing Manager
With a New York state of mind, and a heart belonging to Kristiansund, we welcome Nina to the Kontali team!
We recently introduced Ragnar Rønning, our new Global Sales & Marketing Director, who will be heading our sales and marketing efforts at Kontali. Joining Ragnar, on heightening Kontali's brand through marketing efforts, is our new Content Marketing Manager.
Tell us a little about yourself.
My name is Nina, and I am one of the newest additions to the Kontali team. I grew up in Kristiansund but just recently moved back to the city after living and working in New York City for the past six years. While doing a big move across the ocean amid a pandemic was rather stressful, I am happy to be back home. Having secured such a great job opportunity with Kontali makes the move all worth it.
What is your background?
I have a bachelor's degree in International Marketing from BI Norwegian Business School and a master's degree in Public Relations and Corporate Communication from New York University. After graduating with a master's from NYU, I started working in the field of PR and marketing in New York City until I recently moved back to Kristiansund. While I am new to the industry of fishery and aquaculture, I am very eager to learn all there is to the industry and apply my previous work experience to this new position.
From the concrete jungle to fjords and mountains, what prompted the big change in scenery?
While New York City is an amazing city, and truly a city that never sleeps, I always knew I would eventually be returning to Norway. I gained invaluable work experience living in New York but I was at a point where it just felt right to end the New York chapter and start a new one back home in Norway. So I finally made the move back home last year with my dog and my born-and-raised New Yorker fiancé. While skyscrapers, shopping on 5th Avenue and a bacon, egg and cheese on a toasted bagel from Steve's bagel shop in Brooklyn are hard to replace, Norway and all of its beauty are irreplaceable.
Why did you decide to come work for Kontali?
I knew Kontali was looking to hire more people, as the company is planning on building a new technological platform and implementing a unique SaaS system to better serve the needs of their customers. When I saw that the company was looking to hire a Content Marketing Manager, the position piqued my interest. Aside from being a great job opportunity, it is very exciting to work for a global company with such big plans for further expansion on the global market.
What kind of work will you be doing?
Being a world-leading provider of data and analyses and having a strong global presence and reputation, Kontali has already made a name for itself. It will be part of my job to continue marketing the global seafood brand that is Kontali, through various channels, to reach existing and new potential customers. I will be focusing on heightening the brand awareness around Kontali and its products and services. Eventually, Kontali will be focusing more on digital marketing and I will be part of building the digital platform for marketing when that time comes.
What do you hope to gain from working at Kontali?
I hope to gain valuable experience from experts in their field and make great connections along the way. I am delighted to work at a company that is already so established but also has so many big plans for the future. Being part of strengthening Kontali’s position on the global market is exciting and I am eager to contribute and play a part.
